West Wilts, Cornbury House and Aston

What a great, if pretty busy (!) few days competing!

First was West Wilts on Friday with the two 6YO mares, KEC Delicate Girl and Milchem Sea Breeze. They both put in very solid performances for their second Novice outings - finishing just outside the top 10. Clever girls!

Then onto the stunning Cornbury House Horse Trials (wow what an amazing new venue) with the bay boy team in the novice class.

Piccolo V felt so assured in all three phases to jump a foot perfect double clear for 5th place. Hazard Z was also on great form - thriving on the big atmosphere of Cornbury’s fab event and feeling very exciting for the future. Matt Heath Eventing did a great job on our homebred Meridianway Ramzes to finish 10th in very competitive company. Brutus is really beginning to come of age.
Last but not least, we took our other two grey mares - 5YO Don’t Look Back (Molly) & homebred Meridianway Pride’s Princess (Flo), to  Aston Le Walls Horse Trials yesterday. Both pointed their toes very well in the dressage and tipped an unlucky rail each. Flo started a bit green XC but grew in confidence all the way round. Molly looking quite the pro. Her rail pushing her just outside the top 10.

A huge team effort to get organised across the three days and thank you to everyone who made it possible and to all the great event teams. Happy horses and happy rider!

A brilliant couple of days at Wellington

We had a brilliant couple of days at Wellington International Horse Trials with the team.

The mares were first up in the BE105. Milchem Sea Breeze continued her run of good form to pick up 10th and KEC Delicate Girl jumped a classy double clear.

Then we were back Tuesday with the bay boy team in the Novice. They were both fantastic with Hazard Z impressing again at this level, adding just 0.4 time faults to his 30.7 dressage to finish 4th. Piccolo V was brilliant in all three phases posting a 26.8 and adding nothing to finish second.

A huge thanks to the team at Wellington for putting on a great event!

West Wilts Unaffiliated

Another successful day for the team at West Wilts yesterday.

Don't Look Back (Molly) was at her second event and went even better than her debut at Waverton to post a 29 dressage score and double clear to come 4th!

It was great to ride the lovely Dernahatten Oak for the Ashfield family. He was on great form and FOD for 5th.

Next stop this weekend is Wellington with KEC Delicate Girl and Mechilam Sea Breeze on the Saturday and Piccolo V and Hazard Z on the Tuesday.

A Sunny Aston Le Walls

Yesterday saw the three bay boys contend the Novice class at Aston le Walls in the super warm sunshine.

Hazard Z was a total megastar at his first run at this level. Jumping an easy double clear with just a time of 0.8 to finish on 30.8 for 4th!

Piccolo V was on top form, putting in a very assured double clear. No prizes thanks to a flock of geese taking off causing a slight "moment" in dressage.

Last but my no means least, Meridianway Ramzes Boy had a great run with Matt Heath and finished 4th.

An excellent day and thank you to Aston for putting on a great event. The team had done a fab job with the ground and the new showjumping site on grass with a smart ring new fence worked really well.

Two great Novice debuts at Solihull

A great day at Solihull with both 6YOs smashing their first Novice.

KEC Delicate Girl put in a lovely 30 test and a double clear for 4th place.

Milchem Sea Breeze had a couple green moments in her test and a few time faults but again double clear to finish 9th.

What a way to start their Novice careers for all 3 horses stepping up in the last week. The future is bright!

Waverton UA

Over the weekend we took our 5YO - Don’t Look Back, aka Molly, to her first ever event in the 90cm at Waverton UA (a fantastic new venue ).

We were thrilled with her attitude and how she took everything on. Although still green in all three phases, she tried her heart out to jump double clear and finish in 10th.

Exciting stuff for the future!

A Good Day at Offchurch Bury

Good day at Offchurch Bury yesterday with two in the BE100.

5 3/4 out of 6 phases went really well!

Milchem Sea Breeze was Miss Consistent to finish 2nd with a great test and easy double clear. KEC Delicate Girl had a green moment and got confused and then worried at a drop 3 from home cross country, having been great to that point. She then jumped home as if nothing had happened. So a learning curve for her but overall very pleasing for both of them.

It was a lovely event and ran like clockwork. Many thanks to Lloyd Hunt and team Lands Eventing Limited for doing such a great job.

A Very Successful Barbury

Barbury novice 2020

A great show at Barbury International Horse Trials last weekend, with the three younger horses who all brought their A-game.

They all went double clear and FOD in the BE100. Both Hazard Z and Milchem Sea Breeze picked up a 3rd place and KEC Delicate Girl finished 7th!

Huge thanks to Alex Lochore, the Musketeer Events team and all the stewards for doing such a good job running the event. Also big thank you to Toby and Diane Pigott for coming to our rescue and lending us their lorry so we could get the horses to the event!

Next stop Aston le Walls this week with Piccolo V.
