Two top 10s and a tumble is the best summary for our day at Tweseldown!

Timpex Karizma started the day off really well with a double clear and 6th place in her novice secion.

KEC Delicate Girl did a nice test, rolled a pole showjumping, but we then had an unfortunate parting of ways cross country. It was a simple miscommunication, and luckily both absolutely fine!

I then had to pick myself back up to crack on with Hazard Z, who gave a brilliant finish to the day, with a great performance across the board in his intermediate section, posting a brilliant double clear to pick up 9th.

The highs and lows of eventing! It was great to catch up with sponsor See Change Now and do a takeover for their social media channels.

A great trip to Aston le Walls Equestrian Centre.

Intermediate horses Hazard Z & KEC Delicate Girl were both super. They did good tests, followed by solid confident double clears. Neither of them pressed for time in quite holding conditions. But a brilliant job by Nigel and the Aston team providing the best possible ground including having moved cross country jumps onto fresh ground from the previous day. All the effort much appreciated. Both horses finishing 11th in their sections.

Timpex Karizma was in the novice and nailed 2 out of 3 phases, just having one green moment showjumping, after getting a bit worked up in the busy warmup – but all good work in progress and showing a lot of promise.

Great to be back at this event again for the second time this spring, albeit with very challenging conditions for the events team.

KEC Delicate Girl (Delphi) was stepping back up to intermediate for the first time this season. Putting in a solid test, rolling a couple of poles – on ground that wouldn’t be her favourite, but made light work of the cross country. We were all really pleased with her performance

Timpex Karizma got the of the day on the flat, just rolling a pole coming out of the treble showjumping and posting a great clear cross country finishing full of confidence. Improving with every run at novice level so far this season

Hazard Z (Harry) had his halo hat on yesterday Much improved test albeit with slightly disappointing mark. He pinged his way round the showjumping and a new bit experiment helped keep the energy all channeled in the required direction cross country! Delighted with his solid result

A great outing for all 3 horses. Huge shout out to Alec and all the Musketeer Events team for keeping the show in the road and giving us the best possible conditions in the circumstances

A great day at Calmsden in the sun

KEC Delicate Girl (Delphi) and Hazard Z (Harry) both did lovely double clears in the ON, with Delphi finishing 7th and Harry 11th in a strong class.

7YO Kizzy felt really confident in the novice, but just a moment of inexperience coming out of the water Very happy with them all as we finally begin to get into a groove with the season

Oxtalls Update

Timpex Karizma excelled in her first run of the season in the 105. A lovely test, followed by a great double clear and feeling super confident in both phases to finish 7th. All making up for a moment of over exuberance when I first got on which left me with a tell tale mud patch on my breeches for the rest of the day

Hazard Z on the other hand kept his moment until 2/3 way round an otherwise foot perfect cross country when he decided the turtle after the water was definitely a Harry eating dragon….. Never a dull moment and a wake up call not to be enjoying the ride so much that I give an inch!! He pinged his way round the showjumping and just about contained his excitement in the dressage. Frustrating but all in all a great albeit delayed start to the for both of them.

Also a shout out to Eleanor Hubbard on Cochise who had a great outing in the 100 open to finish 9th

We have two lovely 5YOs on the yard this season, who have made great starts to their eventing careers this spring.

5YO MBF Jackpot started successfully at Waverton and then we took him, and our other hombred 5YO Meridianway Victory to Swalcliffe. Jack continued to really impress and took the win in his 90 section on a score of 24.5 After only one event Jack decided he has Eventing taped mud and all! Victor was at his first ever proper event. He coped really well with the going for a dressage of 31, he showed his greenness and lack of competitive experience in both jumping phases but full of promise and learned loads.

Next up was Calmsden for Jack, who easily made the step up to 100 making it all feel quite easy and Vic posted a great double clear at Goring.

Hazelton Manor was the next stop were Vic got the double clear gold star And Jack put in another solid performance in his second 100 to finish 10th

Brilliant to feel them both progressing so well over the last few weeks – it is such a pleasure when they keep rewarding all the hard work! They will both now how a bit of a break, before picking them up again for the rest of the season.

A great day at the BYEH 5YO class at Badminton Horse Trials

Homebred Meridianway Victory put in a stellar performance to come a close fought 5th in a big class. He was super in both the dressage and jumping and has come out so well this year. He scored the highest mark of the day for ‘type’ which was brilliant. Good boy Vic

MBF Jackpot was super exuberant in his jumping, throwing some real shapes – almost feeling a bit too well He just finished out of the top 10, but again scored really well.

The great British weather has definitely not been on eventings side this spring, but we have been fortunate to get out to two events amongst all the sad cancellations due to rain.

Our first outing was to Cirencester with KEC Delicate Girl in the Intermediate Novice. We had a couple of poles rolled in the slightly holding conditions, but followed by an easy clear cross country. Delphi was very happy to be out

Then we headed to the Cotswold Cup event at Waverton with our young horse MBF Jackpot for his first event, and he really impressed. He throwed some extravagant baby shapes to come 5th in the 90 Exciting times ahead!

A good day at Aston, albeit a bit of a nearly not quite day!

Piccolo V did a solid test for 30, a couple down showjumping this time, but a super XC. He finished 11th despite running steadily.

KEC Delicate Girl did a good test-although still work to do to be properly established at the new level. The mare jumped her socks off until the last couple of fences in the showjumping – perhaps she got a bit tired in the heat in this phase, but ended on a high putting in a fabulous clear XC for 12th.

6YO Timpex Karizma was contesting the novice class – she did a lovely test, clear showjumping, and just one green moment of confusion at the corner but otherwise a lovely XC. It was great to get her first completion at this level.

All the horses coped amazingly with the heat and there were lots of positives to take away from the day.

A huge thanks to Eleanor Hubbard for her amazing grooming and support.

And amazing efforts from Nigel and the team at Aston, keeping the showjumping rolled and watered all day and with all the XC ground preparation providing extraordinary going given the conditions. We can’t thank the team enough.

MBF Jackpot put in another very good performance at Hartpury BYEH class. For some reason he didn’t quite impress the judges as much in the jumping phase this time, but was totally unphased by the big arena and went really well to finish 8th in a very competitive class.

He will now have an easy couple of weeks before building back up for Nexgen finals in September.
